The permanent exhibition invites you to explore the evolution of urban transport from the 18th century to the present day. Featuring over 50 iconic vehicles — including carriages, trams, trolleybuses, and buses — the museum illustrates the history of mobility and its connection to technological developments, urban planning, and the socio-economic context.
The exhibition is divided into four main sections:
• From the 18th century to the late 19th century: From getting around on foot to the arrival of horse-drawn trams.
• Late 19th century – 1950s: The rise of public transport, with electric trams and trolleybuses.
• 1950s – 1980s: The “all-road” era, the dominance of the car, the expansion of buses, and the oil crisis.
• Towards today: The emergence of sustainable mobility, the return of the tram, and innovative projects in Liège and beyond.
The exhibition is enriched with historical objects, photographs, soundscapes, and interactive displays.
The museum’s free mobile app, with its audio guide and game-based tours, offers a fun and interactive way to enhance your visit.
